Gladstone Park Shopping Centre is one of the largest strata-titled shopping centres in Australia. It is a unique retail hotspot servicing customers from Gladstone Park all the way to Broadmeadows. The anchor tenants comprise Woolworths, Aldi, Bigfield, Commonwealth Bank, and Australia Post among other majors making the centre a one-stop shop for anyone visiting. The centre has hairdressers, fabulous options to enjoy a meal, and recently even a Brazilian jiu-jitsu gym to work off some of the calories.
The team at OCX have managed the centre for over 6 years and has achieved some outstanding results working with the committee. The centre recently had a full external repaint to refresh the look, upgrades to the infrastructure, several proactive maintenance arrangements taking the place of costly reactive callouts and various activations to attract and engage with the local communities. After restructuring their contracts and levies the arrears levels reduced from 40% of the annual budget to less than 3% of the annual budget.
We love working with the committee, the retail tenants and all stakeholders. Thanks to the Hume City Council the 'Gladdie Team' had an opportunity to work with their Mural team and we jumped on the opportunity. Led by the Centre's marketing manager, Christina Yianni, after months of planning and organising the brand new Mural was revealed. The freshly painted mural is a vibrant celebration of the Australian landscape and the affectionate Aussie animals that inhabit it.
The talented artist, Christian Vine, known as VEINS, worked through the unpredictable Melbourne weather – from rain one day to intense heat the next – to bring this masterpiece to life. Veins has done a phenomenal job transforming what was once a blank wall into a captivating landmark that both the Gladstone Park community and visitors can enjoy. We couldn't be more delighted with the outcome.
We invite everyone to take a leisurely stroll or drive by and admire this stunning 65-meter piece of art. Located on the Gladstone Park Shopping Centre wall facing Mickleham Road (opposite the Gladstone Park Hotel), it's a sight that’s sure to impress.
Come and see this beautiful mural that has become a new icon in our community. Enjoy the vibrant colours, intricate details, and heartwarming depiction of Australia's unique flora and fauna. It's more than just a mural; it's a celebration of our local heritage and community spirit.

The mural is not just a work of art but a symbol of community collaboration. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Woolworths, Aldi, Victoria Police, Australian Federal Police, and Gladstone Park Primary School for their support. A special shout-out to the Hume City Council for their invaluable assistance. Additionally, we want to recognize Christina, our Marketing Manager at Gladstone Park, who expertly managed this project from start to finish. We cannot wait for the next big project for this amazing local community hub.
